YGN celebrated its 6th Birthday with a Summer Networking Event on 1 August 2019, marking the end of a 10-part series of events that began in October 2018 and toured The Ministry, Tileyard Studios, Century Club, Sony Music and Kobalt Music. Supported by Handle Recruitment, BIMM, the Musicians' Union, PRS for Music, Youth Music and Remi Harris Consulting, the series saw young music professionals aged 18-30 network and explore topics including Starting a Music Publishing Business, CV Writing & Interview Technique, Resilience (at our Positivity and Purpose panel), Portfolio Careers including Music Education and Side-Hustles, Building a Live Music Brand, How to Network Strategically and many more.
The 6th Birthday included a talk from Phil Taggart, Radio 1 presenter, record label founder and author of the Slacker Guide to The Music Industry.
